A complete renovation of an apartment in the iconic Chatham Towers apartment building designed originally by Mario Romanach while working at Kelly and Gruzen in 1961.
The renovation created an open kitchen for entertaining while preserving the features and spirit of the original design.
The kitchen was made to open to the living area with seating along the high counter. The design recalled elements of the east end of Long Island with a white wood paneled wainscot. The stainless steel fascia defines the kitchen shape and allows for proper ventilation of the kitchen.
