The traditional Garden Bench
The tromp l'oeil Tree/Column
The window penetrating Planter Box
The original Asian inspired 1965 gravel rock garden was removed and terrazzo extended to the window and connected to the exterior terrazzo at the sidewalk extending the space. The planter box penetrates the window wall with plantings blurring inside and out. The structural column with its flaring top is interpreted as a tree via the use of tromp l'oeil painting with the elliptical solid walnut bench around the "tree" all recalling a traditional english garden.
